Questions, answered
Everything people ask about InsiderBeacon: how copying works, where the data comes from, alerts, pricing and early access.
How does copy trading work?
Open any insider buy, or an open position of a Hyperliquid trader, and tap Copy. Choose how much to put in, place the trade in your own broker or on Hyperliquid, and tell the app you did. From then on it watches for the exit. When that insider's sale of the stock is filed, or the trader closes, cuts or flips the position, you get an alert to sell yours, even with other alerts switched off or during quiet hours, on every plan. Wallets you copied are checked every 15 seconds. Insiders have up to two business days to report a sale, so a stock alert comes the minute the filing is public, not the second they trade.
Do you place trades or hold my money?
No. The app never connects to your brokerage or Hyperliquid account, never holds money and never places an order. You place every trade yourself; the app sizes it, keeps the record you give it and sends the alerts. Copying a trade is your decision, not a recommendation: insiders and top traders lose money too.
Where does the data come from?
Insider trades come from the Form 4 filings that company insiders must send to the SEC within two business days of a trade. We read open-market purchases (transaction code P) and sales (code S), show those of $25,000 or more, and link every trade to the original filing on sec.gov. Crypto traders come from Hyperliquid's public data, and Congress trades from the House and Senate financial disclosure sites.
Do you alert on insider sales?
Yes. When an insider you follow sells shares on the open market, you get an alert with the same timing as their buys: live during early access, and after it 24 hours after the filing on Free, live on Pro. If you copied an insider's buy, their sale of that stock always reaches you at once, on every plan. Sales under a pre-arranged 10b5-1 trading plan are labelled, and you can leave them out. Buys stay the main signal: insiders sell for many reasons, such as taxes or spreading their savings, so a sale usually says less than a buy.
Do you cover crypto?
Yes. InsiderBeacon watches the 100 most profitable traders on Hyperliquid, a crypto exchange where every position is public. Their moves of $100,000 or more show up next to insider buys, you can see how they're positioned in each coin, and you can follow any wallet to get an alert when it trades. Crypto is high-risk, and a trader's past results don't predict their next trade.
How does paper trading work?
Every account gets $100,000 in paper money to practice with on stocks and crypto. Stock orders fill at the next official close, because the app works from daily closing prices. Crypto orders fill straight away at the live price, with simulated fees. You buy and then sell what you hold, with no shorting or leverage. It's paper money only: no real trades are placed, and results leave out taxes and many real costs.
How do I know if the signals work?
The track record shows what happened after every signal, 1 day, 1 week and 1 month later: each insider buy from the first close after it was filed, and each top-trader move from the price when the app saw it. You can see how often each kind moved the right way, and which traders' calls worked best. Past results don't predict future ones.
Is this investment advice?
No. InsiderBeacon shows what insiders bought and explains why it could matter. The AI analyst covers both sides and never tells you to buy or sell. Insider buys can and do lose money, as our GE case study shows. Paper trading is practice, never advice.
How fast will I hear about a new buy?
InsiderBeacon checks the SEC for new filings every minute while it accepts them (6am to 10pm New York time on business days), and every alert says how many seconds after the SEC accepted the filing it went out. Today's speed and the state of every data feed are on our status page. During early access, every account gets filings and alerts within a minute, on your phone, on Telegram or by email; the feed shows visitors without an account each filing 24 hours later. After early access, the Free plan keeps that 24-hour delay and Pro alerts within a minute.
How much does it cost?
Nothing during early access: every account gets every Pro feature free, with no card needed. Sign up here. Pro is coming soon at $29 a month or $240 a year, and early members keep a founding-member price of $14 a month or $140 a year, kept for as long as you stay subscribed. Accounts made after early access get a 14-day free trial. After early access, the Free plan stays free.
How is the score worked out?
Each insider buy gets a score out of 100 from what the filing says, built on published research: who bought (a CFO counts most, then the CEO, other officers and directors), how much their stake grew, the size, whether it's a routine buy they make every year or a first buy in a long time, how many other insiders bought within ten days, and where the price sits in its 52-week range. Pre-arranged 10b5-1 buys and late filings score lower, and very cheap stocks carry a "hard to trade" warning. A score is recorded once and never rewritten. How the score works, with each factor's record so far.
Do you cover Congress trades?
Yes, and it's free on every plan. InsiderBeacon reads the stock trade reports that senators and representatives file under the STOCK Act, from the Senate's and the House Clerk's disclosure sites, every 5 minutes on weekdays. The law gives them up to 45 days to report a trade, and the reports give amount ranges, not exact sums, so every trade shows how many days late it was reported, and the app works out no returns from them. You can follow a member and get an alert on each new report, or follow a stock and hear when any member trades it. Each member has a page at insiderbeacon.com/congress.
Can I get fewer alerts?
Yes. For each insider, stock, trader or wallet you follow you can set a minimum size or score, and for your whole account you can choose to get only the strongest few alerts a day, bundle the rest into an hourly or daily digest, and set quiet hours in your own time zone, with an exception for very strong signals. Settings shows how many alerts you would have had last week with your choices.
How long does early access last, and what happens when it ends?
It lasts until 300 people use the app in a month. When we get there, we'll email you twice, 14 days before it ends and the day before. Until then, everything stays free. Early members get a founding-member price on Pro: $14 a month or $140 a year, kept for as long as you stay subscribed. Nothing is charged automatically: we never asked for a card, so if you don't choose Pro, your account moves to the Free plan. You keep everything you've saved, including your follows, alert rules, watchlists and paper trading account. Follows past the Free plan's limits are paused, not deleted. During early access, the only limits are fair-use caps where each use costs us money: 10 AI breakdowns a day.
